Building Maintenance Representative

Wage Amount: $21.00 minimum hourly
The primary purpose of this position will be to provide outstanding service to internal members and to provide maintenance services to Credit Union facilities.
Essential Functions-
- Perform maintenance needs of all assigned Credit Union facilities including the interior and exterior of building within scheduled hours including but not limited to:
- Perform carpentry repairs such as door adjustments, ceiling tile repairs, painting, and furniture and fixture repairs as assigned.
- Perform electrical repairs such as changing ballasts and changing bulbs as needed.
- Performs routine plumbing repairs such as unstopping toilets, sinks or urinals, fixing water leaks, leaking faucets, and water fountains.
- Assembles and moves furniture, hang pictures and bulletin boards, and moves and sets up tables and chairs.
- Repairs and replaces doorknobs or locks, repairs door closures, and patches holes in walls.
- Paints interior and exterior walls.
- Perform exterior window cleaning, exterior light fixture cleaning, and exterior sign cleaning.
- Follow A+FCU’s Personal and Property Security Program when entering or leaving facilities.
- Continually observe facilities to identify and report to supervisor major repair needs such as roof leaks, door and window problems, carpet, landscaping/sprinklers, parking lot, and HVAC needs and assist in arranging third party assistance as needed.
- Assist in vendor/third party management for maintenance related vendors.
- Purchases supplies, equipment, and materials necessary to complete projects.
- Assist in coordinating quarterly elevator inspections as needed.
- Schedule or perform vehicle maintenance/service as needed.
- Perform other or miscellaneous duties as assigned.
Education and Experience
- High school diploma or G.E.D. equivalent required
- Two years of maintenance experience required
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
- Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with coworkers and members.
- Good organizational and communication skills with the ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing.
- Valid driver’s license and insurability
- Ability to communicate repair needs to vendors/employees
- Knowledge of trades related to building maintenance and repair.
- Knowledge of a variety of building maintenance procedures and techniques.
- Knowledge of machinery, equipment, and tools necessary for maintenance and repair of commercial buildings.
- Knowledge of and skills in following safety precautions (particularly involving occupational hazards).
- Skill in using hand and power tools.

Physical Functions
- Must have the ability/stamina to work at least 40 hours a week.
- Will frequently stand, walk, climb, balance, reach, feel, bend, stoop, kneel, carry, listen/hear and finely manipulate tools and hardware.
- Vision abilities must include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
- Must be able to engage in problem-solving skills to help identify and solve potential issues in the field.
- Must be able to communicate through telephone, e-mail and in-person communications, etc.
- Must be able to lift and/or move 75 pounds.

Types of Decisions Made Independently: Recommend/suggest repair changes or work schedule changes. Recommendations to management regarding vendor selection, storage inventory needs, ordering supplies, and identifying and determining repair needs.
