The BSA Analyst position has the primary responsibility to support the Sr. Compliance Officer (BSA) in the development, implementation, and maintenance of the Bank Secrecy Act (BSA) Program for A+ Federal Credit Union (A+FCU). This position will assist in ensuring adherence to BSA, Anti Money Laundering (AML), Customer Identification Program (CIP), Customer Due Diligence (CDD) and Office of Foreign Assets (OFAC) policies and requirements.
The BSA Analyst is responsible for daily processing of transactions to ensure BSA reports are accurately completed and filed in compliance with the BSA and for reviewing of persons and transactions to ensure compliance with OFAC regulations. The Analyst is responsible for conducting investigations and monitoring of transactions, mitigating money laundering risks to A+FCU and its members. The Analyst is responsible for account identification, analyzing and reporting any activity believed to be associated with unusual and suspicious account activity such as potential structuring, money laundering or terrorist financing to ensure the credit union is in compliance with BSA and the USA Patriot Act. This includes identification of unusual transactions and escalating incidents to the Sr. BSA Analyst and Sr. Compliance Officer, as appropriate, in a timely and accurate manner.
The BSA Analyst is responsible for:
Regulatory
a. Assist with research for proper completion and filing of the required forms to comply with Bank Secrecy, including daily reports, Monetary Instrument Logs, and Currency Transaction Reports.
b. Assist with Office of Foreign Assets Control (OFAC) compliance by screening daily and monthly files against government lists and reviewing possible country sanction hits.
c. Conduct searches as requested by FinCEN under section .314 (a) of the USA Patriot Act.
d. Conduct CDD/EDD member reviews, including high risk member reviews, and properly document and escalate findings.
e. Conduct BSA/AML surveillance monitoring alert reviews and properly escalate findings for further review.
f. Assist with the identification, completion and filing of suspicious activity reports (SARs).
g. Provide guidance to front-line staff on BSA-related matters
h. Assess all matters to identify the applicable root cause and conduct a UDAAP analysis.
Miscellaneous
a. Stay apprised of new or changing legislative and regulatory issues impacting credit unions on the local, state, and federal levels.
b. Participate in ongoing training to maintain current knowledge of BSA/AML and OFAC regulatory requirements.
c. Participate in outside credit union sponsored activities and community/education events to increase credit union awareness.
d. Conduct individual dialogs with direct manager, minimum quarterly.
e. Maintain confidentiality of member information and all restricted, sensitive regulatory reports.
f. Other duties as assigned.
