Primary Functions:

The Retail Reporting Analyst II is responsible for the creation, development, and maintenance of customized dashboard metrics and reports to analyze, measure, and trend employee production, service levels, and the member experience. They gather, evaluate, and interpret Retail-related data and design reports and presentations using Data Visualization principles to convey information to stakeholders. Partnering with various internal partners and external vendors, the Retail Reporting Analyst II actively participates in implementing & optimizing data solutions across the Credit Union. They will recommend analytic-based solutions for Retail users and support related projects and system integrations.

The Retail Analyst II will work closely with business leaders to identify, define, and interpret business requirements and data needs. The Retail Analyst II may also work with teams of developers and other data analysts across the organization. They will need proficient knowledge of data storage structures, data visualization techniques, and various ways that data can be applied and displayed to aid in business intelligence.


Essential Functions:

Retail Support

  • Creates and designs reports from several databases providing/creating needed data trending, dashboards, charts, and visual aids required to understand both employee and member behaviors.
  • Provides mentorship and guidance to entry-level analysts.
  • Ensures that processes and procedures are documented as well as cross-trained for all required functions to minimize business disruption.
  • Effectively makes connections between data and business results to present findings in a concise manner that allows decision-makers to easily identify gaps, opportunities, and courses of action.
  • Creates and designs long- and short-term forecasts of Retail traffic volumes, production/output, and workloads.
  • Synthesizes data and analytic findings into actionable management reporting, utilizing progressive visualization tools, trending analysis, and forecasting.
  • Creates and presents data findings as needed for visual consumption by Executive Management and Board review.
  • Makes data-driven recommendations to management in support of strategic planning, improving performance, production, employee, and member experience.
  • Presents data with the end user in mind so they can understand it and take action.
  • Troubleshoots and works with end-users to ensure all reports and dashboards meet user needs. Proactively identifies and recommends updates and changes through partnership with internal clients.
  • Assists with training end-users on report and dashboard functionality and usage and actively works to make output progressively easier for consumption and utilization. Provides users with technical support.
  • Leads the Retail team in developing and improving custom data visualizations and analytic tools to help teams identify trends and best practices and support in their monitoring of goals.
  • Creates custom queries to credit union systems and databases to extract needed data.
  • Leads business analysis activities to gather required reporting and dashboard requirements to ensure the retail partners have the necessary information to make decisions for their respective business units.
  • Translates business requirements into specifications that will be used to implement the required reports and dashboards, created from potentially multiple data sources.

Organizational Support

  • Contributes and collaborates with the organization to create and maintain data dictionaries, glossaries, and instructional material.
  • Works with internal partners organizationally using multiple data systems. Ensures data integrity while providing quality reporting.
  • Works with management staff and IT to ensure relevant retail data is accurate and easily accessible to all levels of staff.
  • Builds, develops, and maintains highly collaborative working relationships across teams and other departments to understand analytics needs, streamlining opportunities, automation, available data, and growth opportunities for the business.

Miscellaneous

  • Schedule and conduct monthly individual dialogs with the manager.
  • Participate in outside credit union-sponsored activities and community/education events to increase credit union awareness.
  • Advances professional and technical knowledge by identifying emerging trends in operations management; attending educational workshops & conferences; reviewing professional publications; establishing personal networks; benchmarking state-of-the-art practices; participating in professional societies.
  • Independently identifies new and emerging best practices in data analytics related to the financial services industry and makes recommendations for consideration aligned with Credit Union goals.
  • All duties as assigned.

Job Requirements

Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Economics, Accounting, or other quantitative field required.
  • Two years of data analytics experience required.
  • One year of financial institution experience preferred.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

  • Possesses knowledge in data reporting and dash-boarding principles that result in the identification, validation, and verification of clean and accurate data.
  • Possesses sufficient knowledge in Retail operations to properly identify actionable opportunities and make recommendations to A+FCU leadership.
  • Understands the basic requirements of banking and contact center compliance and regulatory standards ensuring compliance through monitoring and reporting of member activity as appropriate.
  • Strong working knowledge of MS Office, including Excel, PowerBI, Word, PowerPoint, Access. Also must have strong working knowledge (or be able to quickly obtain working knowledge) of Symitar, Visio, OneNote, Adobe Professional, and ARCU.
  • Understanding of data management principles and systems used by Retail including their reporting capabilities.
  • Experience creating and analyzing custom reports, and modifying pages, views, and dashboards (via multiple systems utilized by Retail).
  • Ability to develop and facilitate effective training and presentations on data, trends, benchmarking, and dashboards.
  • Professional verbal and written communication skills. Ability to interact with all levels within the organization and communicate ideas in both technical and user-friendly language.
  • Understanding of relational databases, data integration, and data visualization tools.
  • Creative and analytical thinker with strong problem-solving skills. Independently discovers relevant data to identify trends and offer practical and effective solutions to complex problems throughout retail.
  • Ability to work independently, as well as part of a team, on multiple projects.
  • Demonstrated ability to meet deadlines, handle and prioritize simultaneous requests, and manage them with a positive attitude and output.
